Birthday Bash #4

Hello,

Just a very quick post tonight.  Again I am crafting to the wee hours of the night so lets get this post done and get to bed.

I have made a card for Beccy's Birthday Bash challenge #4 using one of her free digis during Feb.

Sorry about the dark pictures, but its very late at night. I might upload a brighter picture tomorrow morning.

Edit : Ok here is a brighter picture

For the layout of the card I followed a sketch from The Sketchy Challenges for their current challenge.

In the background I also enlarged and printed Beccy's digi straight onto the DP and gave it a hint of colour with my copics.

The sentiment is hand written on a green patterned DP and punched out using a Stampin Up oval punch.  I used very few embellishments.  Some pink twine and some wooden flower buttons.

So this is my card for the night.  Off to bed I go.

Thanks you for stopping by.
Phi

Cupcake anyone?

Hi hi.

So it's Sunday again and I haven't posted my make for this weeks Besties challenge again.  Before I get into that, take a look at these!!

Aren't they scrumptious!!!  Now I cant take credit for these though I would love to ( who would know??).  These were made by a friend of mine.

What I did make is this cute little cupcake topper.  Goes perfectly together don't you think?  Also fits in with the Besties challenge requirement of two shades of blue.

The sentiment says "Have a fabulous birthday"

Over at Crafting When We Can, the challenge is Birthstones.  So on the back of the topper I chose to include a verse from the Gregorian Birthstone Poems for the month of December .  The birthstone for December is turquoise hence matching the 'blue' theme.

The verse reads:
If cold December gave you birth,
The month of snow and ice and mirth,
Place on your hand a turquoise blue;
Success will bless whatever you do.

Of course if I were to use this topper for birthdays in any other month, I wouldn't include this verse.

Here is a close up of the coloured image.  I might have bits of cupcake stuck to parts of it... heheee.  Try to look past that.  The Image used is Lolita.  An image by Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Careful, her cute images are addictive!

Here is a picture of the cupcake and topper alone.

Well, that is my make for today.  I would have loved to show you an army of Lolitas sitting on a whole table full of cupcakes (because that would really be something to feast your eyes on) but that would have taken me all too long and then I wouldn't be able to finish this post.  Even though there is only one made up topper, I hope you liked it anyway.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Phi

This cute make will be entered into the following challenges:

Besties Challenge #6 - Two shades of blue
Incy wincy Designs - Pop it Up

Love Wings

Hi Peeps,

It is extremely late at the moment and my eyes are all blurred from wanting sleep.  However I have made a card and must post it now in time for some challenges.  Please excuse the thousand pictures of the card in all sorts of lighting.  As its late, it was very difficult to find a light source that will show the card in true light.  I still cant tell - blurred eyes.

Here is the card.  Its a shaped easel card.

This image is by Sherri Baldy and was coloured in with copics.   The letters L O V E U are beads stuck onto the image.

For the Birthday Bash challenge #3 at Beccy's Place, the theme is shaped card. I chose a butterfly shape which I think goes with my sentiment quite nicely. The sentiment says "Love U - Your love gave me wings".

This is my first attempt at a shabby chic card.  Honestly, I don't really know what that means, so I hope this passes as one.

This is a close up of the sentiment which I typed up in word and printed.

Close up of the flower I made using pink and brown satin circles, lace, and a pearly flower embellishment thingy.

This is what the closed card looks like.

And this is inside of the card and its finished off with 2 layers of sheer organza ribbon.  I seem to be using this ribbon on all my cards.

Ok, so there's my card.  Would love to know what you all think.
Thank you for visiting.
Phi

White on White

Hi there.

So once again I've waited till the last minute to post my card.  Projects for the Birthday Bash challenge #2 at Beccy's Place is due in today.  The theme is white on white.  This is what I've come up with for the challenge:

For the layout of the card I followed a sketch for the February challenge at The Craft's Meow.

For me, this card was fairly easy to put together since the colour and layout was already chosen for me.  Sometimes I struggle quite a bit to choose colours and layouts for a project.  Since I could only use white, the only thing to do would be to add some texture and heaps of layers.

I used..
Sizzix Dots and Burlap embossing folders on the banners
Spellbinders Label 9 and Fancy framed tags dies for the label topper
Satin ribbon to make the white roses.
A pin tack (for cork boards) to do the piercings.
Scissors for distressing.

This is the first white on white card I've ever made.  I hope you like it.
Thanks for visiting.
Phi

Card will be entered into the following challenges:

Beccy's Place - Birthday Bash Challenge #2
Simon Says Stamp - White on white
One Crazy Stamper - February Love challenge
Delicious Doodles #22 - No Designer Patterned Paper
Crafts 4 Eternity R#110 - Be My Valentine
Totally Gorjuss #170 - Love!
Love to Create #52 - Feelin the Love
Incy Wincy Designs - Add texture
The Craft's Meow February sketch challenge
Digistamps 4 Joy #60 - Romance is in the air

Yay!!
I made Top 3 at Crafts 4 Eternity R#110

sweet thing

Hello to all.

I have a seven year old boy.  Who has the biggest crush on a seven year old girl.  And hounded me every day since last week to make her something for valentines day.  I left it a little late but here it is.

I have used an image from Saturated Canary called Puppy Luv.  Perfect for my smitten boy and his gal.  Coloured it in with my copics, propped it up with foam tape, and propped the heart window on top also with foam tape.

Over at Saturated Canary Challenge blog, they have a colour inspiration challenge.  I have chosen my colours according to this challenge.

For the layout of the card I have followed the sketch from Sketch 'n' Stash for its current sketch challenge.  I flipped the sketch around and used a heart frame instead of an oval frame.  To play along in this challenge you need use either your newest or most neglected stash.  My most neglected stash is the DP I used.  Its a paper pack called Cabana by Inque Boutique.  Got it some time last year and haven't touched it since.

The sentiment says "sweet thing".  Which is exactly what my boy thinks of his girl.
Finished my card off with a bow made from sheer ribbon and flower buttons.

So what do you think??  Will she like the card enough to like the boy too??

Thankyou for stopping by.
Phi.

Tilly Twinkle and Bunnikins

Hi Hi,

Now this week over at the Besties Challenge blog, Sherri has a featured Bestie of the week.  Her name is Tilly Twinkle and Bunnikins.  Isn't she just adorable!!!

I apologise for the dark picture.

I wanted to make a valentines card that is not so lovey dovey - without using all the traditional love colours.  Something that he wont be too embarrassed to display on his desk (see, no pink and no frills).   And this is what I ended up with.

Now the costume Tilly is wearing is just the cutest with the full skirt and mismatched leggings.

I really wanted to showcase the full skirt so I printed off a heap of the skirts, cut out the petals I liked and layered them one by one.  Now the skirt looks.....well....fuller.  Didn't want all the cute ribbons getting lost amongst everything so I chose a darker colour for them.

I think I've put together quite a cute outfit....hehe (well, Sherri did anyway).  I would love to own this outfit and go to a dress up party in this.

Oh, and I've added some flower rhinestones to the skirt and hair for some bling.  Got to have some bling.

Since there is alot going on with the image I've kept the embellishments small and the DP plain-ish .  Just some little roses I made from sheer ribbon and a heart I cut out.  I wanted this cute image and her full skirt to be the center of attention.

The sentiment says " Smile somebunny loves you" which was a freebie from Digital Doodling.

That is the card for today.  I hope you like it as much as I do.
Thanks for visiting me.
Phi

Inchies

Hello crafting friends,

Tonight I have a very quick and simple card to share with you.

Over at Meljen's Designs Challenge Blog they have an Inchies Challenge and I think I might just be able to squeeze in.

As soon as I saw this challenge I thought that Meljen's Honey Bee Buckets digi and these scrabble tiles would go perfectly together. Just had to cut off the buckets and stick on the tiles.  I cut out and popped up the tiles to give the card more dimension.

.

The card was really simple and quick to put together.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Sorry for the dark pictures.  Lighting in here is very poor come night.  I should really change that globe and get a desk light.

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Thanks for dropping by.

Just in time!

Hello there.

It has been a most hectic week.  I've been meaning to post this card earlier so to be in time for some of the challenges, but it seems I've missed a few of the close dates.  Never mind.

So this is my card for today.

I have used an image from Sherri Baldy and coloured her up in shades of red and pink.  Used liquid pearls for her necklace and added some glitz onto her hat.  I've cut out and popped up another layer to her bow headband, cake and balloon for some extra dimension.  Not sure if it shows much on the pictures.  The bow on the card was made with sheer organza ribbon and finished off with a polkadot button.

So there you have it.  I've never created a card with so much pink before...heheehe.  I hope you liked it.

Thankyou for visiting me.
Phi.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
