Red Patches

Hello Everybody.

Today I'm sharing a monochromatic card featuring Patches the Fairy by Saturated Canary.

As you can see, the image is coloured in all shades of red.  This was a challenging card to put together as I don't often use red.  I don't know about you but red copics really scare me.  I hope I pulled this one off.

I added handmade party banners across the top on some red and white twine.  Also added glitter on the wings.  The sentiment reads "it's your birthday, make a wish!"

Dies used:
Spellbinders - Label three
Spellbinders - Fancy Framed Tags One

and

Stampin Up - Word window punch

This is a closeup of Patch the Fairy.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my monochromatic card.
Thank you for dropping by.

Dorothy Envelope card

Hello Bloggers.

Wow, its been a while.  I've managed to squeeze a bit a of time to check in on some of my favourite blogs and even comment on some.  But just cannot manage to make and post anything of my own lately.

I have finally put something together and boy does it feel good to hold a finished piece in your hands.

This is an envelope card featuring one of Sherri Baldy's Besties of OZ.  This one is Dorothy and she's coloured with copics.

The two larger flowers are handmade.  Until I made these, I was actually afraid to wet my papers with water.  But now that I've made these and they turned out so well, I'll be pulling out the water spritzer every chance I get.

Piercings were added to the edges to create some faux stitching since I don't have a sewing machine.  Would have loved to put some real stitching there.

Pearl strings, lace, and ribbons were added to make it all pretty.  Last but not least I added two gate die cuts.  I love this gate die, so delicate.  It's my latest and candy won from Annie's blog - thanks so much Annie.

When the tag is pulled out of its envelope you can see the sentiment, and it reads "happy birthday Special Friend".

Dorothy was pieced together with a few layers.  However the layers were propped up with only some thin card between the layers.  Foam tape propped up the pieces too much and I was aiming for a subtle 3D effect.  I'm not quite sure if you could see the layering very well but they are there.

Sorry about all the pictures.  As always I can never decide which pictures to post and I end up posting too many.

I really hope you like my card and come back to visit me often.  Even though I've been a very bad blogger.

Thanks for stopping by.
